Sveinn Guðmundsson recently released the song „Hvað er ég að gera á þessum fundi?“ (What am I doing on this meeting?), which is a single from his upcoming album and has the working title “Tíminn og tevatnid” (Time and Tea).
The song was just released and chosen as one of the 50 best Icelandic songs of the year by the radio show Straumur, but earlier in the year the song “Stelpustrákur” was released, which will also be on the new album.
„Hvað er ég að gera á þessum fundi?“ deals with the alienation of the pen pusher and is in a similar spirit to Svein’s song “Skrifstofuplanta” (Office Plant) from his album of the same name, which was released in the spring of 2020. Previously, Sveinn released the album „Fyrir herra Spock, MacGyver og mig“ (For Mr. Spock, MacGyver and Me) (2013).
Recordings took place in Aldingarðurwhere Magnús Leifur Sveinsson conducted the recording and played guitar and drums.
Gunnlaugur Sveinsson, Kristmundur Guðmundsson and Guðmundur Sölvi Sigurðsson also visited and sang backing vocals.
