Today, Árný Margrét releases the song world is between us from her forthcoming full-length debut, the album They only talk about the weather.
The song is accompanied by a video directed by Erlendur Sveinsson and the video was produced in collaboration with Icelandair. The video was recorded in the Westfjords, on Ísafjörður and its surroundings, and shows the Icelandic winter atmosphere as it can be – both beautiful and gloomy.
About the video, Árný Margrét says: „We recorded the video in my hometown during the winter. We got all kinds of weather that we actually expected and wanted to show. The video shows isolation and loneliness, but manages to capture the beauty in it at the same time. It was great to work with Erlendur on this, the team was first class and we had a lot of fun. I hope people like the video as much as we do.”
Last February Árný Margrét released the EP Intertwined and in July the song Cold Aired Breeze was released, which was the first single from the upcoming album. In recent months, Árný Margrét has since performed at concerts in the United States and Europe. In July, she performed at the legendary Newport Folk Festival and then opened for Blake Mills with Pino Palladino at four concerts in Chicago, New York and Washington DC. In November, Árný Margrét will perform at Iceland Airwaves.
In a very short time, the West Frisian Árný Margrét has gained considerable experience in the international music world. She has established a strong team of partners, including the British publishing company One Little Independent and the booking companies ATC Live in Europe and High Road Touring in North America. She works closely with the recording manager and musician Guðmund Kristn Jónsson, who has played a big part in the success of Ásgeir (Trausta), but both the EP album and the forthcoming album by Árnýjar Margrétar are recorded in Guðmund Kristin’s studio, Hljóðrita in Hafnarfjörður.
