Á Áfangastað is a new song by Soffía and the lyrics are written by the famous fortuneteller, Sigga Kling.
Soffía and Sigga first met in 2015 when they were hired to perform at the same event in Borgarfjörður and after that became good friends. Being both big fans of happiness and magic, they decided to release the song on the Twelfth Night to cheer people up in the darker months as a reminder that the destination of your dreams is out there.
Everyone who participated in the making of the song has a connection to the town of Borgarfjörður. Soffía is from the farm Einarsnes in Borgarfjörður and Sigga Kling was born in Borgarnes. The song was recorded by Jakob Grétar Sigurðsson at Varmalækur and he also played drums, organ and Jupiter synthesizer. Soffía’s brother, Guðmundur Bergmann Óðinsson played classical guitar and Moog synthesizer.
Mix and Mastering was done by Sigurdór Guðmundsson at Skonrokk Mastering. Sigurjón Líndal Benediktsson painted the album artwork and Magnús Hreggviðsson was in charge of graphic design.
