U-bahn 7 is the first song from the album Berlin by Smári Guðmundsson. The video is made by Björgvin Guðjónsson with the help of artificial intelligence.
Berlin is a collection of music that Smári composed for the radio show Stories in Berlin, which explored aspects of Berlin’s history and culture. The music connects to the topics of the show, the history and Smári’s own connection to Berlin, where he stayed while composing the music. Alongside the music, Smári draws images of places and things from Berlin that inspired him. From the drawings, Björgvin then creates videos with the help of artificial intelligence. There are great opportunities in artificial intelligence and the development is fast and it will be fun to see how the videos for each song evolve.

Björgvin has worked as a Graphic Designer and Creative Director for many years, both in Iceland and Denmark. Recently, he has specialized in using artificial intelligence in design and is about to start a new job in a company in Odense where he will get a brand new title as Artificial Intelligence Director. The company helps other companies to digitize their operations and it will be his role to lead the use of artificial intelligence and creativity into that process.
The first thing I fell in love with in Berlin was the train system and especially the underground train system, or U-bhan as it is called. My route that I took daily was U7 which by many is considered the best route, says Smári. It is therefore fitting that the first song that is heard in this project is about it.
