Guðrún Árný is a singer, pianist, songwriter, teacher, broadcaster and mother.
Guðrún is a true powerhouse who has had music in her blood from a young age and has for long been in high demand for funerals, weddings and various events where her sincerity shines far above the music itself.
Guðrún won the high school singing competition in 1999 and has been visible in various singing competitions and shows throughout her life. In 2006, Guðrún took part in the television singing competition with the song ‘’Andvaka’’ and the song has been nationally known ever since.
Guðrún recently released the album ‘’90’s Nostalgia’’. The album contains 22 of the most iconic songs from the 90’s, such as ‘’Open Arms’’, ‘’Hero’’, ‘’Zombie’’, ‘’Power Of Love’’and other essential bombs.
Guðrún presented the album with an impressive concert in Silfurberg in Hörpunni, which will be shown on stöð 2+.
Guðrún, along with many of us, loves the good old songs and she takes it a step further than the 90’s album as Guðrún also plans to hold an 80’s concert May 20th in Harpa, and you can get tickets at Tix.is here.
