The band Molda has only been operating in two years but has already made their mark in the Icelandic music scene.
The single that really jump started the band’s career is called Ymur Jörð and was released in 2021 and was the song inspired by the volcanic eruption in Fagradalsfjall, on the southwest corner of Iceland. The main theme in the lyrics in Molda’s songs are the strong forces of nature, the hazardous weather and other events that are known to the Icelandic people. These lyrics make the band unique in the sense that the band gets their inspiration from their culture and everyday life in the Westman islands.

The band has released 4 singles and also have released one cover song called Láttu mig vera by the band 200.000 Naglbítar, an Icelandic rock band. In the beginning of April 2022 the band played in the prestige concert hall, Harpan, where the band were a warm up act for the band Tyrkja Gudda who hosted their annual Skonrokk concert. There the band played in front of hundreds of people and made their mark on the live rock scene in Iceland. Since then the band has performed at several concerts.
The musical genre that Molda can be categorized in is guitar metal rock in the glam rock style of the 90’s with a dash of viking effect. The band still has a large database of songs that have yet to see the light of day, so the fans can start to rejoice and anticipate their release.
