The musician Guðmundur Pétursson recently released his single One Day.
One Dayis a dreamier song than most of his others that come before. The song he dedicates to everyone who is being born, dying, beginning, quitting, giving up or being rebirthed.
Guðmundur wrote the song as he was spending his Christmas 2021 at the quarantine hotel in Iceland.
,,It was a very weird experience, but when you are put in surroundings like that, some exciting things happen in art creation. At the same time I was reading about Dostojevskí and when he was supposed to be executed along with a few others in 5 minutes time they suddenly canceled the execution. This experience really affected him. You can say that that was the spark that started my vision for this song. But then it’s down to each and everyone to interpret the song in their own way.’’ Says the musician Guðmundur about his new song.
Guðmundur has made quite the impression in the music industry and had eyes and ears on him earlier this year when he released his country rock version of the song ,,Stay The Ride’’ Originally by GusGus.
Guðmundur is a versatile musician as he sings, plays instruments and is in charge of the recording and mixing of the song. The drums are played by Kristinn Snær Agnarsson, background vocals are sung by Ragnheiður Gröndal and mastering is done by Sigurdór Guðmundsson.
