The band Nostal was founded in 2014, but the band is composed of six people with different backgrounds and they come from all over the country.
What unites them is an interest in music and playing together rock and roll. Nostal is a band that practices 1-2 times a week, holds 3-5 concerts a year and plays songs by well-known musicians and bands, as well as performing its own material. The members of Nostal are Bjarni Ómar Haraldsson (vocals and acoustic guitar), Svavar Hafthór Viðarsson (bass), Baldur Ketilsson (guitar), Thröstur Leósson (guitar), Jón Karl Ólafsson (keyboard) and Ragnar Z. Guðjónsson (drums).

The song Mín leíð in the performance of Nostal is an Icelandic version of the song One Minute that Uriah Heep released in 2014. Uriah Heep has never before authorized other lyrics to his songs than his own, until now. After initially denying Nostal, the release was unexpectedly given the green light. The reason is their old acquaintance with three band members of Nostal in the center of Reykjavík on April 21 in 1988, then Bjarna Ómar Haraldsson, Svavar H. Viðarsson and Ragnar Z Guðjónsson. Old acquaintances are not forgotten.
