‘Fuck It’ first released in December 2019, is an anthem to freedom.
The music video is an expression of self-exploration in a planetary world of solace and emancipation, where Sunna Margrét shows a path of intimacy and power until she reaches a state of being fully carefree.
Sunna Margrét’s sonic delicacy is laying its path, wave by wave, in the left-field pop music. Her chopped up lo-fi sound arrangements layered with her soothing elf-like vocals bring the listener on a fairytale voyage. Think FKA Twigs meets Suzanne Ciani. She cut her teeth playing with the lauded electro-pop outfit Bloodgroup and they embarked on their bulkiest tour run when she was still in her teens. In 2017, the Icelandic artist rises as an autonomous songwriter and twists her original vocal instrument with trip hop psychedelic sounds tempered with experimental and emotive lyrics to navigate new serpentine musical waters. She keeps expanding the field of performance with instruments and poetry reading along strong downtempo rhythms.
Sunna Margrét founded No Salad Records in 2019 and their debut release was the EP ‘Art of History’ under her name, which received the annual Kraumur Award and two nominations at the Iceland Music Awards.
